	Very few other inflatables are designed with hulls which project well below the floor giving inbuilt directional stability so that the boat rows, tows, and motors in a straight line, unlike flat bottomed boats. A 3.3-hhp outboard will easily power the oars to plane, reaching 13.5 knots - speeds only attainable by comparable boats by using inflatable keels plus larger capacity outboards. Eliminating the need for an inflatable keel also means that the Tinkers do not tip to one side when run onto a beach or ramp and are less vulnerable to abrasion or puncture.
